In DroneDeck there are type of accounts and what account you need depends on what you want to do. The accounts are Free, Freelance and Enterprise.
The following use-cases will give you a better understanding on the type of accounts you need for yourself or your crew.
Solo operator
If you are a one-man team and you want to create flightplan, add flight logs, manage your drones, batteries and payloads, you need the Freelance account. With the Freelance account you can use all features you need to fly compliant with EU regulations.
You can also invite other users to join your team as pilot, observer, maintenance manager or safety officer.
Operational manager of one ore more teams
If you want to control more teams you need the Enterprise account. This gives you access to all features within Dronedeck like to possibility to create more teams. In a team you can assembly users. A team can be a group of users that always work together or you can even make teams based on region (like, North, East, South and West). It is also possible to temporarily assign users to a team. Users can only access flightplans and related data the is assigned to the team they are part of.
Drone, batteries, payloads and ground equipment can be assigned to one ore more teams.

Pilot without own drone
If you only fly for a company that has a paid account in Dronedeck and you don't have your own drones, you can use the Free account. In this account you can be assigned to one or more teams and updated your training and skills.
Maintenance manager
If you are a maintenance manager without any drones you can also use the Free account. Other teams can invite you to their team. As a maintenance manager you have limited access to the team. You will be able to view, create and edit maintenance.

Safety officer
If you are a safety officer without any drones you can also use the Free account. Other teams can invite you to their team. As a safety officer you have limited access to the team. You will be able to view, create and edit safety meetings, incidents and improvements. You will also be able to see flight logs, risks and flightplans.

Use APIs to integrate Dronedeck with other systems
The frontend of DroneDeck works on APIs and it also possible to use public APIs to integrate other software with DroneDeck. In this use-case you need the Enterprise account. One of the companies that already use Dronedeck APIs is Deck180. They create flightplans from their control room directly into Dronedeck. They also add flight logs and do their drone maintenance in DroneDeck. This way they work compliant with EU regulations.
Summary
If you want to add you own drones, batteries or other equipment you need the Freelance account. Do you also want to create more teams, you need the Enterprise account. In all other use-cases you can do with a Free account.
